Wrinkle reduction injections work by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles, reducing the repeated movements that cause lines such as frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet, and bunny lines. When expertly administered, the face remains expressive while appearing smoother, relaxed, and more rested. Wrinkle reduction injections can also be used in combination with hyaluronic acid fillers as part of a non-surgical ‘liquid facelift’, helping to relax overactive muscles while restoring volume and structural support. This combined approach is carefully planned by a trained clinician, and allows the face to appear lifted, refreshed and balanced without surgery.

Beyond facial rejuvenation, neuromodulators can also be used to manage excessive sweating (also known as hyperhidrosis) by reducing overactive sweat gland stimulation, as well as muscle tension-related concerns like teeth grinding and masseter hypertrophy.

When will I start to see results?

Results typically begin to appear within 3-5 days, with full effects visible at around two weeks. Lines gradually soften as the treated muscles relax. Results usually last 3-4 months, after which repeat treatment should be considered.

Will my face look frozen or unnatural?

When administered by an experienced injector, wrinkle reduction injections enhance facial appearance while preserving natural expression. Mr Mathur and his team adopt a conservative approach, focusing on balance and subtlety rather than overcorrection.

Are there any side effects?

Mild redness, swelling or small bruises at injection sites may occur but usually resolve within a few days. Serious side effects are rare when treatment is carried out by a senior medical professional.

Is there any downtime or aftercare required following this treatment?

Most clients can return to normal activities immediately after treatment, as downtime is minimal. Mild swelling, redness, or bruising occurs in some cases but usually resolves within a couple of days. For best results, it is advised to avoid make-up, massaging, or applying pressure to treated areas for 24-48 hours, as well as avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat, or alcohol in the immediate period. When will the treatment need to be repeated, and why?

Wrinkle reduction injections are temporary, as the treated muscles gradually regain movement over time. Most patients find results last around 3-4 months, after which lines may slowly reappear. When used to treat excessive sweating, the effects also gradually wear off as nerve signalling returns, with results typically lasting several months before repeat treatment may be considered. Repeat treatment helps maintain smoother skin and prevents deeper lines from forming, or helps to manage hyperhidrosis.
